Characters

Meet a few of the characters from my Lost Tradition series.

The protagonist, Omotola, is born into extreme poverty in a conservative society. She has been in an arranged marriage since birth, but she is a strong girl, determined to be more than a wife and what society expects of a woman. Every vein in her body is determined to defy convention and find herself.

Akin was born into one of Yoruba Land’s richest and most powerful aristocratic families. He is the heir to the Akdrend global corporation. Mr. World is his moniker. Akin has the world at his feet, and his father, Simon, has his life splendidly planned out for him, but he never agrees to it. He, like Omotola, defies society for a range of reasons.

Simon is Akin’s father. His nickname is “King Solomon of Africa” because of his wealth, power, and amassing of women, just like the biblical king. Any woman he marries has the same value as any new property he acquires and can be replaced at any time; thus, he is a polygamous man to the core, with a den full of women he rarely sees.

Paul, Omotola’s father, is a gambler, a sadist, and an excuse for a man who could sell his entire household for a penny. For the money, he arranged for Omotola to marry a man his own age. He is a polygamous man. Like Simon, any woman is only as good as the moment.
