Folasade Fasoranti grew up in Nigeria, where she witnessed the pitfalls of polygamous homes and the jealousy and strife created through one man marrying multiple wives. To escape such a fate, she earned a bachelor of arts in education from Adeyemi Federal University of Education. Eventually, she left Nigeria for a new life with her husband in Brussels, Belgium, where she still resides and is a member of the Brussels Writers’ Circle.
